THE staff at CoCo hair salon in Stradbally have become the latest hairdressers in Laois to sign up for the Get blown away campaign.
But there’s no need to pull your hair out worrying if there’ll be skin and hair flying … at this stage anyway! The five other Laois salons taking part in the Childline fundraising initiative are Rage Hair & Beauty Salon, Link Road, Portarlington; Scissorhands, Unit 1, The Tannery, Portarlington; Mary’s Hair Studio, Knockiel, Rathdowney; Celine’s Unisex Hair Salon, Main Street, Mountrath; and Kilminchy Hair Design, Portlaoise.
Along with hundreds of salons across the country, the six Laois businesses will donate the cost of one blow dry by each hairdresser who has signed up for the Get blown away campaign.
In its second year, the fundraising initiative will run from 22-28 May. In 2016, more than 650 salons took part in the campaign and raised over €70,000. This year, the target is €100,000.
Clare Coleman from CoCo Hair Salon at Stradbally Shopping Centre said: “We are delighted to take part in the campaign to raise money for Childline. All of the hairdressers in the salon are looking forward to taking part. We look forward to seeing our regulars and some new customers over the week and we urge all our colleagues in salons across Laois to register and take part also.”
