EMMA Knowles from Laois and her friend Ken Maher recently took part in a skydive for the Jack and Jill Foundation at the Irish Parachute Club in Clonbulloge, Co Offaly.

The pair took part to help their one-and-a-half-year-old niece Mary-Claire.

Emma said: “Mary-Claire is mine and Ken’s niece who suffers from a lifelong form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome, which causes prolonged seizures and developmental delays. The Jack and Jill Foundation are a great help to my brother Anthony and his financé Rose, who also have two other kids, Daniel and Anthony.”

The pair raised a brilliant €1,440 for the charity, which provides funding, nursing care and support for children with severe neurological development issues as well as offering some respite to the parents and families.
