RAIDERS made off with over €4,000 worth of goods after breaking into Dunnes Stores, Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise in the early hours of Friday morning last.
The haul included a large amount of cigarettes and alcohol.
Gardaí say the thieves gained entry to the supermarket by smashing their way in through the roof, causing extensive damage to it.
Gardaí are now looking for the public’s support in tracking down the culprits and have asked anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious along the Mountmellick Road area from 2am to 4am that morning to contact them in confidence at Portlaoise garda station on 057 86 74100.
