YOU couldn’t have asked for a better ambassador. Laois lady Bernadette Ryan wowed the crowds at the Rose of Tralee festival last week.
The Rathdowney native is now back to reality with a bang after resuming teaching in Sacred Heart NS, Portlaoise.
Taking to the stage like a duck to water, Bernadette coped admirably with the bright lights in the Dome in Tralee as her face was beamed to millions around the world.
Bernadette brought a tear to many eyes when she paid special tribute to her sister Loretta, who passed away at the age of 12, and her late father Robert.
A host of loyal Laois supporters, along with family members including her mother Ann-Marie and Bernadette’s boyfriend John Donohue from Stradbally, made their way to Tralee to support our Rose.
