Applications process opens for first phase of affordable housing in Co Dublin

The Land Development Agency (LDA) and Fingal County Council (FCC) have today announced the details of the application process for the first phase of 36 affordable homes of a total of 176 affordable and social homes at Priory Fields, Skerries, Co Dublin.

The initial sales phase includes 36 homes, which include1-bed apartments and two and three-bed duplexes ranging in height from two to four storeys.

These A-rated homes, built by Lydon, will feature balconies or terraces.

Upon completion, the development will include a crèche, community space, pedestrian and cycle routes and parking.

Well situated, Priory Fields is a 10-minute walk from Skerries train station and a short distance from Skerries town centre.

All of the homes in this initial sales phase will be made available to eligible buyers through the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme, which is managed jointly by Fingal County Council and the LDA.

Applications will be accepted via an online portal, which will go live on Wednesday, March 25th at 12 midday.

Prices for the affordable purchase of homes start from €291,365 for one-bed apartments, €353,800 for two-bed duplexes; and from €395,424 for three-bed duplexes.

The Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme enables eligible buyers to bridge the gap between the price of the home and the amount of personal funds and mortgage available to them.

The scheme involves a shared equity arrangement, which effectively lowers the upfront cost and enables Fingal County Council to hold an equity interest in the property until it is repaid, or the home is sold.
