BALLYADAMS NS were crowned Roinn 3 Girls champions after producing a dominant display against St Abban’s Killeen in the final match on the stand side of O’Moore Park on Day One of the 2026 Cumann na mBunscol.
Killeen made the brighter start, with Elizabeth Cassidy registering the opening point, but Ballyadams soon took charge and went on to control much of the contest.
Ava Brophy got Ballyadams up and running with their first goal before Méabh Murrin added a point. Béibhinn Byrne followed with another score before finding the net to extend her side’s advantage. Byrne added a point to her tally, while Brophy also registered a point as Ballyadams continued to build their lead.
Byrne came close to adding a second goal, but her effort struck the crossbar. The Byrnes continued scoring before the interval, with the two players each registering a point for Ballyadams.
Murrin made an immediate impact after the restart, firing a goal to further strengthen Ballyadams’ position. Erin McGuinness then added a point as the winners continued to find scores.
Brophy looked set to complete her hat-trick soon afterwards, but Killeen goalkeeper Katie Whelan produced an excellent save to keep her effort out. The Ballyadams forward was not to be denied for long, however, as she found the net on the next attack to secure her third goal of the game.
Aoife Greene added another point late on, bringing Ballyadams’ scoring to a close after an impressive attacking performance.
Killeen battled until the end and managed to finish the game with 2-1 without reply, although the result was already beyond their reach.
Ella Kelly scored two excellent goals for Killeen during that late spell, while Cassidy brought the contest to a close with a point, matching her contribution at the start of the game.

Ballyadams’ strong display across both halves ensured they finished Day One with the Roinn 3 Girls championship title.
