Body of young woman (30s) found in Co Cork

Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a young woman whose body was found at a house in Co Cork on Friday afternoon.

It is understood that the body of a woman in her early thirties was discovered at a property in Innishmore Park in Ballincollig at around 5pm.

The body of the woman remains at the property.

The Office of the State Pathologist has been contacted and a postmortem examination will be carried out on Saturday at Cork University Hospital. This will determine the course of the garda investigation.

The scene has been cordoned off to allow gardaí to carry out a technical examination, and a preliminary examination will be conducted at the scene.

The Garda Press Office has indicated that gardaí are at the scene of a “serious incident.”

Gardaí said that they are not in a position to provide any further details at this early stage.
