Brilliant second half sees The Rock NS crowned Roinn 4 Hurling Shield champions

THE Rock NS were crowned Division 4 Hurling Shield Champions after coming back from five points down in the second half to win by three points over The Heath NS.

Noah McRedmond led the way for The Rock NS getting 2-1 which proved vital in their win.

Zack Dalton opened the scoring for The Rock with a well taken goal to get off to the perfect start.

The Heath NS hit back with three in a row through Jack Hyland who hit a brace with Robbie Coughlan getting the other point.

Disaster struck again for The Heath NS as McRedmond would get his first goal of the game put The Rock back into the lead.

Hyland and McRedmond traded scores, before The Heath NS took over the half by scoring the last 1-4 without reply.

Hyland grabbed 1-3 of that while Cormac Walsh got the other as they led 1-8 to 2-1 at half time.

The brilliant Hyland got The Heath going again after the break with a free. Zack Dalton and Ronan Donlon scored points for The Rock to keep them in touch.

Rian Fingleton and Ben Reddin would trade further points as The Heath NS were in control. Hyland one again was the go-to man for The Heath as he hit a free, a sideline and 45 to leave The Heath ahead.

Ryan Fitzgibbon grabbed a free which sparked his side into life to mount a comeback. They then hit two quick fire goals through McRedmond and Fitzgibbon with the scores now 4-5 to 1-13 with minutes remaining.

Reddin and Fitzgibbon hit two more points as The Rock NS held on for a remarkable comeback win.
