Cahill to the fore as Camross were crowned Roinn 1 camogie champions

CAMROSS were crowned Division 1 Camogie champions following a six point win over Holy Family.
Saoirse Bredin and Isobel Cuddy were on fire as they amassed all of Camross' tally between them.
This game was a very physical contest with scores at a premium in the opening ten minutes as both sides defended really well.
Saoirse Bredin broke the deadlock for Camross with a point but that was cancelled out by Beth Linsey for Holy Family.
Camross' next score though was a big one as Bredin won a free and shot low to the corner of the net.
Holy Family replied with a point from Alanna Cahill and the same player then scored a goal to leave it 1-2 to 1-1 at half time in the Portlaoise school's favour.
Camross regained control when play resumed with Saoirse Bredin landing two more points to put them back ahead.
She scored again from distance and then Isobel Cuddy got in on the act.
The corner forward landed a quickfire 1-1 and all of a sudden, Camross led by five points.
Keeva Phelan replied for Holy Family but Camross remained on top as Cuddy and Bredin continued to point.
Alanna Cahill pointed at the end for Holy Family but there was no denying Camross.
