THE draws for this year’s Laois Shopping Centre Club Hurling Championship took place on February 27. A new format will be introduced for the Senior Hurling Championship, with 10 teams now split into two groups of five. This replaces the previous setup of eight teams divided into two groups of four.

Defending champions Clough/Ballacolla will compete in Group A alongside St Lazarian’s Abbeyleix, Portlaoise, Rosenallis, and Ballinakill. Meanwhile, last year’s runners-up Rathdowney/Errill have been placed in Group B with Camross, The Harps, Castletown, and Borris/Kilcotton.

This year features a new format with ten teams divided into two groups of five participating. Each team will play the teams in the other group.

At the end of the five rounds of group games the top team in each group progress to the semi-finals. Second and third placed teams will contest the quarter-finals. For the fourth placed teams their season will be at an end while the bottom teams will face each other in a relegation final.
