Kenneth (Ken) Metcalfe, Derryguile, Mountmellick passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness bravely and courageously borne on Thursday 25 September.
Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Betty, loving children Zara, Gayle and Wayne, daughter-in-law Aoife and son-in-law Keith, adored grandchildren Darcey, Fiadh and Kenna.
Kenneth was predeceased by his beloved brother Ivan, sadly missed by his brother Sandy, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Our grateful thanks to the staff of St James’s Oncology Department and the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, Eilish (Palliative Care), Madeleine (Community Nurse) and Aoife (Podiatrist) for their tender care of Ken.
Funeral Service at Saint Paul’s Church, Mountmellick (R32 FC80) at 2pm on Saturday 27 September, with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
House strictly private.
