TIMAHOE booked their place in this year’s Laois LGFA Division 1 final with a hard-fought two-point victory over St Joseph’s in Monday evening’s semi-final, setting up a decider against St Conleth’s.
The hosts held a narrow 0-8 to 0-7 lead at the break, with Mo Nerney accounting for all eight of Timahoe’s first-half points, including five from placed balls. St Joseph’s stayed in touch thanks largely to Martina Dunne, who also converted five frees, while Niamh Crosby and Annie Smith added a point apiece.
The visitors continued to battle after the restart, scoring eight second half points. Crosby raised three white flags, two from frees, with Dunne doing the same. Emily Moore also chipped in with two points.

However, two crucial Timahoe goals ultimately proved decisive. Niamh Dundon and Nerney both found the net, while Dundon also added two points and Nerney one to help the home side edge over the line and secure their place in the Division 1 final.
