Evan Ferguson named man of the match in Serie A debut

Evan Ferguson continued his promising pre-season form as he was named man of the match in his Serie A debut on Saturday, a 1-0 win over Bologna.
While Ferguson did not continue his scoring streak, he was a threat throughout and this was reflected in him being named man of the match.
After a brilliant breakthrough at Brighton, the 20-year-old has struggled for form so a move to Rome may be just what he needs.
Ferguson played 74 minutes before being replaced by Artem Dovbyk.

His performance is a big positive for Republic of Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson, who will name his squad on Tuesday ahead of games against Hungary and Armenia.
“He played a great game and his condition is improving,” Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini said.
“He played very little last year and needs to get used to it but showed some important qualities for us.
“They're very young players with plenty of room for improvement. They gave a good showing of what they can do against Bologna and we saw how compact this team is.
“I noticed that in pre-season, especially abroad where it's not easy playing in full stadiums.
“He (Ferguson) has a lot of potential and will give us great satisfaction in the long run.”
