A junction in the centre of Drogheda is closed after building masonry fell, pulling down Christmas lights.

Louth County Council have asked people to avoid the West Street, Peter’s Street and Laurence’s Street area as their crews respond to the incident.

They say there are no reported injuries, but the junction will remain closed while the area is made safe.

The council said it appeared capping from a building fell on Friday which brought down the Christmas lights below.
