Preview – LGFA IFC Final

GRAIGUECULLEN will be looking to be re-marked as a senior team for the 2025 season as they face St Joseph’s in the Intermediate final.

Caoimhe Fitzpatrick spoke on behalf of her side in relation to the build up to the big day.

“There’s some buzz up at training and around the club at the minute. Especially with the other big wins within the club the past few weeks. All the girls are on a high as we're one step further than we were last year. It's such a good feeling knowing we'll be playing in O'Moore Park. Everyone's buzzing,” Fitzpatrick said.

Fitzpatrick spoke about the multiple encounters herself and her teammates have had with St Joseph’s over the year’s as well as this year’s opening round of championship.

“We’ve come up against Joseph's at all ages and stages, including our first round of the championship which went their way. So much has positively changed since then we are a different team. We just need to show up on the day which didn't happen in the first round. No doubt it'll be tough. It's always a battle between the two of us having been playing against eachother for many years now,” she added.

Reflecting on the 2024 championship so far, Fitzpatrick commented on the hard work the team has shown in order to reach the championship decider.

“Our championship has been challenging yet enjoyable. Our team and coaches really came together and worked hard to be in the position we're in now. Roll on county final day,” Fitzpatrick ended.
