Five people injured in suspected arson attack in Dublin
Five people have been hospitalised following a suspected arson attack on a house in Finglas, Co Dublin, in the early hours of Wednesday.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a fire at Creston Avenue at around 12:45 am. The local fire service extinguished the fire.
The five occupants in the house, two women in their 40s and 20s, and three teenagers, two girls and one boy, were brought by ambulance to James Connolly Memorial and Temple Street Children’s hospitals.
The injuries to the woman in her 40s and the teenage boy have been described as serious.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or noticed anything suspicious in the Creston area between midnight and 1:00 am on Wednesday to contact them.
Any persons who may have video footage from the area between those times (including CCTV and dash cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
