Irish men's hockey team qualify for Olympics after win over South Korea

The Irish men's hockey team have booked their place in this summer’s Olympic Games.

Ireland defeated South Korea 4-3 in the qualifying tournament’s third-place play-off.

Anything other than outright victory would mean no Irish team in the Olympic tournament in Paris, after the women's team were beaten on Saturday by Great Britain.

Ireland's men have now qualified for the Olympics for the first time since Rio 2016 and only the third time in history.
