Just a single point separates the sides in 14-goal bonanza

Scoil Mhuire Fatima Timahoe NS 7-6 Camross NS 7-5 TIMAHOE are Division 3 Girls Shield champions after emerging victorious from a remarkable 14-goal contest against a gallant Camross side this morning.

In a game packed with drama from start to finish, it was an outstanding late goal from Ella Doone that ultimately sealed victory for Timahoe after the lead had changed hands several times in a breathless second half.

Timahoe made the brighter start as Rosie Culleton opened the scoring with a point before Mia Ramsbottom found the net. Despite dominating possession, Timahoe were unable to pull clear, striking the crossbar twice and the upright on three occasions.

Camross stayed firmly in contention through determined defending and their patience was rewarded when Amber Gilligan-Culleton registered a point before Clodagh Conroy struck for goal. Rosie Culleton responded with another point for Timahoe, but Camross hit back again through Ellie Ann Lalor's goal.

Khloe Gilligan-Culleton then produced a scoring exhibition, hitting two quickfire goals to keep Camross in the hunt. However, Ramsbottom answered with two more major scores for Timahoe, while Doone added a point to leave her side leading 4-3 to 3-2 at the interval.

The excitement continued after the break. Chloe Conroy reduced the gap before Ailbhe Daly blasted home for Timahoe. From there, the momentum swung repeatedly between the teams as both attacks continued to find the net.

Camross, inspired by the brilliant Gilligan-Culleton, who finished with an incredible 6-1, looked set to snatch victory when they moved a point clear in the closing stages.

But Timahoe had one final response. With time running out, Doone unleashed an unstoppable shot to the net, proving the decisive score as Timahoe held on to claim the Division 3 Girls Shield after an unforgettable encounter.
