Emergency services were alerted at around 3.30am and responded to a reported fire at a residence in Moymore about five kilometres from Lahinch.

It broke out on the third floor of a premises off Granby Row at around 8:00 am on Tuesday morning.

The flat has been preserved for a technical examination. This will establish the cause of the fire.

Plumes of smoke quickly engulfed a section of the shopping centre car park.

A turntable ladder and emergency tender are also present at the site on 'Crooksling', off the Blessington Road.
