David Norris (35) of 8 Assumption Terrace, Rosbercon, New Ross, Co Wexford, appeared by video link before Judge Miriam Walsh at Waterford District Court on Tuesday, August 5th.

The man was injured in the incident at a residence in Foxdene Drive, Balgaddy, Co Dublin, shortly after 11pm yesterday. 

It is understood the incident occurred at Gortnamuckla, outside Dunmanway town.

The infant was pronounced dead at University Hospital Limerick

Gardaí are aware that images and video of this incident are being shared on social media and messaging applications.
