It was alleged that the accused sexually assaulted the woman who is in her late 30s and also physically assaulted her and her young teenage daughter, the court heard.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident that occurred at a residence in Maryborough Hill, Cork, in the early hours of Sunday, November 17th.

Seven men and a teenager were arrested on Friday, with six of the men and a teenager charged in connection with the incident.

Greg Green, 18, of La Touche Road, Bluebell, Dublin, was granted bail with strict conditions after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) authorised that he face trial on indictment over the alleged incident on October 7th last year.

Prosecuting counsel said William Ryan's assertion that the encounter was fully consensual is "implausible, incredible and lacks logic"

Two other gardaí and a peace commissioner have also appeared on related charges in court over the last two weeks.

Dublin-based Garda Sergeant Ciaran Whelan (51) appeared before Dublin District Court on Tuesday charged with a number of offences

It came after gardai issued an alert about a van on Tuesday.

A man in his 70s was injured in the incident.
