GGardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit and local Crime Unit seized suspected cocaine and cannabis worth over €170,000 on Friday night in Listowel when they stopped a car.

Officers in Tralee stopped a vehicle at a routine traffic checkpoint at about 10:30pm on Monday night. 

A 66-year-old man has appeared before a sitting of Tralee District Court this afternoon charged with the murder of 84-year-old Paddy O’Mahony at his home in Castlemaine, Co Kerry at the weekend

He was found dead outside his home in Castlemaine, Kerry on Sunday.

He is due to appear before Tralee District Court on Wednesday morning
