A multi-agency team, which included the Coast Guard Rescue 117 helicopter, Rosslare Lifeboat crew, several National Ambulance Service units, and gardaí resulted when a man first attempted to rescue the child from the sea along Rosslare Strand on Sunday afternoon. 

Over the duration of the weekend, an average of over 100,000 vehicles travelled on the M50 daily, while some 370,000 passengers travelled through Dublin Airport between Friday and Sunday alone.

Farrell’s son James, 20, has the rare neurogenetic disorder, which causes problems with development, speech and movement.
