A PEDESTRIAN crossing is needed to be upgraded or manned at one of the largest primary schools in Laois.

"There was a green area beside Scoil Bhríde (Knockmay). It was parish land. It should have been used as a park or a green area, but that went into houses,” said one councillor.

It is hoped to see reduced congestion, emissions and happier, healthier students.
