Child income poverty has fluctuated more in Northern Ireland than in the Republic of Ireland, according to a new report.

Almost half of all teachers, or 42 per cent, believed the cost of living crisis has had a major impact on students’ access to breakfast at home

There has been an increase in the number of children being deprived of basic essentials because of inflation, a report has said.

Children’s advocates like the Children’s Rights Alliance and other organisations had made such a recommendation in the past.

About 230,000 children suffered from material deprivation in 2023, an increase of 30,000 children compared with 2022.
