Gardaí are monitoring a number of individuals in the east Limerick riverside village in an effort to quell rising tensions.

The shooting occurred outside a house, located at Hogan Avenue, Kileely, shortly before 11 pm.

Up to a dozen violent incidents, including pipe bomb attacks and arson attacks, have occurred in the area in the past month.
