Her parents Tom and Violet held hands and raised them aloft as they crossed the finish line in the half marathon.

More than 200 of her family and friends will come together to run and walk this year’s Half Marathon and 10K events on May 31st.

Ellen Cassidy fell ill near the finish line at St Patrick’s Street during the Cork City Marathon in June

Ellen Cassidy (24) of Carhoo, Old Mallow Road in Co Cork, became ill just after she completed the half marathon last Sunday at about 1pm.
