The new RSA drug-driving campaign aims to correct public misconceptions and raise awareness, especially among young people, about the reality and risks of drug-driving.

A total of 174 people were killed in road collisions in 2024, including 15 persons in December.

Over the Christmas period alone, there were eight fatalities on Irish roads and 20 people received serious and life-threatening injuries.

The judge was giving his decision in the case of a driver who was stopped at a roadside checkpoint for a drug test and told he was required to remain there for up to an hour
