Met Éireann have issued fresh weather warnings for 21 counties across the island of Ireland on Sunday

12 counties in the Republic while all of Northern Ireland will be under status yellow weather warnings on Sunday

Cork, Kerry and Waterford could see spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions from 9 am.

A yellow alert has just come into effect for Cork and will last until 8am Friday while in Waterford, the warning will run from 6:00 pm on Thursday until midday Friday.

The orange wind warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, and Munster is set to expire at 4pm on Friday, as throusands remain without power.

Donegal is under a rain alert until 11am, while Cork and Kerry will be affected by a similar warning until Wednesday morning at 6am.

Meanwhile, Donegal, Mayo and Galway will be under a status yellow wind warning from midnight until 11am on Tuesday as well.

The warning has been issued for Mayo, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Clare.

Met Éireann says heavy and persistent rain will lead to spot flooding.

The advisory for Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim will come into effect from 10pm on Monday and run for 12 hours.

It is as the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto tracks towards Ireland.

The affected counties includes all of Leinster along with Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford.

The warning is valid from 10:26am this morning to 9pm on Saturday evening.

The forecaster said there will be poor visibility as a result, with difficult travelling conditions for the affected areas. 

There will be high spring tides with very strong and gusty southwest winds. 

The forecaster is warning of the potential for strong winds and spot flooding.

Met Éireann are warning strong and very gusty westerly winds, accompanied by squally showers.

Met Éireann said rain will be heavy at times and are warning of localised flooding, difficult travel conditions and poor visibility.
