The M50 is the most heavily used road in the country with close to 150,000 vehicles travelling several sections on an average day.

Figures from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) also reveal how the M50 was by far the most lucrative toll road in the state in 2024.

From January 1st, 2025, there will be a 10 cent increase for cars, buses, coaches, and lighter goods vehicles that do not have a tag or video account on the M50.

The highest was imposed on a woman with a record of 485 unpaid tolls on Ireland's busiest motorway.
