Man (90s) dies following collision in Laois

A man in his 90s has died following a collision in Co Laois.

The incident happened on the R433 at Tullyroe near Abbeyleix at around 10am, when the car he was driving left the road and struck another parked car.

The driver was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, where he was later pronounced dead.

The parked car was unoccupied, and no other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area between 9.30 and 10.15 on Saturday morning to come forward.
