MOLLY Conroy was the star of the show on Tuesday afternoon as Ratheniska were crowned Roinn 2 Shield champions with victory over Ballyfin.
Sadie Conway got the scoring underway pointing from play, soon followed by a well taken goal from Molly Conroy. Conroy added a free a moment later while Conway fired in a goal.
Kate O’Sullivan pointed Ballyfin’s first score of the game while Conroy replied with a free. Conroy pointed two super scores in a row before Grainne Dowling added her name to Ballyfin’s scoresheet. Conroy pointed the final score of the first half which was her third free.
Conroy fired in 1-1 to get the second half underway while Dowling raised her sides first green flag in reply. Conroy struck again and pointed two in a row with Jennifer Kelly also pointing for Ratheniska.
Ballyfin went in search of goals and Ella Meredith Scully stepped up and provided two super goals but despite their best efforts it wasn’t enough and Ratheniska were crowned champions.
