A ‘Gig for Gaza’ is taking place in Laois

The 'Gig for Gaza’ takes place in Preston House, Main Street, Abbeyleix (R32 KP78) on Thursday 24 April

THE Laois based Power of Words Events in association with the Laois Palestine Solidarity Campaign are hosting a ‘Gig for Gaza’ in Preston House, Main Street, Abbeyleix (R32 KP78) on Thursday 24 April from 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

It will be an evening of music, poetry and spoken word with performances by Brian and Figs, Rachael Bonham, Beats Working, Amy Phelan, David Delaney, Jane Hogan, Car Park Sci-Fi and Mairead Carroll. 

Spoken word performances by John Whelan, Said Enaia, Laura Murphy, Siobhan Hoy and John MacKenna.

The guest speaker on the night is the chairperson of the Laois Palestine Solidarity Campaign Emily Durling Barrett.

There will also be a monster raffle for some fabulous prizes.

Tickets are available for €15 each and can be obtained online at Eventbrite at ‘Gig for Gaga Abbeyleix’ or at the door on the night.

All money raised will go towards raising funds for a mobile maternity unit for Gaza.

All support would be gratefully appreciated for this very worthy cause.
