Abbeyleix Main Street gets temporary resurface after lorry load of timber spills onto one of the county's busiest thoroughfare

Main Street Abbeyleix came to a standstill earlier today after a lorry load of timber shed its load in the middle of the busy thoroughfare. Motorists and pedestrians had a lucky escape as hundreds of trees spilled onto Main Street, causing traffic chaos and traffic jams. Emergency services rushed to the scene but according to local reports, no one was injured due to the incident. While the incident caused major traffic disruption, Main Street has reopened and it's business as usual, with usual tailbacks, reported.
