Annual Apple Fest returns to Abbeyleix
Abbeyleix Apple Fest takes place on Sunday 6 October
THE annual Abbeyleix Apple Fest makes a welcome return to the town on Sunday 6 October.
It will be staged in the Community Garden from 2pm to 5pm.
The autumn festival always attracts a large crowd of apple lovers and this year is expected to be no different.
Along with apple pressing from many varieties will be stalls and craft displays. Also on the list this year is a junior baking competition for young people aged between eight and 18 years, which is sponsored by Mueller and O’Connell Bakery.
The young competitors are asked to bake their apple pies, tarts and muffins in advance at home and bring them along to the event on the day.
The young bakers can enter in any or all of the categories.
Entries will be judged by the award-winning bakers from Mueller and O’Connell and vouchers will be awarded to the winners in each of the categories.
