Armed robbery at Portlaoise takeaway

GARDAÍ have issued an appeal for witnesses following a frightening armed robbery in Portlaoise at the weekend.
The robbery happened at a fast food outlet on Market Square, at about 11pm on Friday night.
According to gardaí, a man produced what appeared to be a firearm after entering the premises via the back door.
He went over to the till area and threatened staff, ordering them to put money from the till into a bag.
The man then grabbed the bag containing cash and left through the rear door, before running away from the premises.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, including those who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact Portlaoise Garda Station at 057 8674100.
