Mega movie star Brad Pitt is in Laois this week, as cameras roll on his latest film The Riders.

The Oscar-winning actor was seen leaving the magical setting of Ballyadams Castle, as filming continues on an adaptation of Tim Winton’s 1994 novel of the same name.

Photos and videos are doing the rounds on social media, following the Hollywood star’s surprise local appearance.

The film is directed by Edward Berger and follows Fred Scully, an Australian man who relocates to Ireland with his family, only for his wife to mysteriously disappear, triggering a search across Europe.

Pitt plays the lead role of Scully in the production, which also stars Julianne Nicholson and Coco Greenstone.

The film is being shot across multiple locations in Ireland that include Laois, Dublin, Wicklow, Cork and Kerry.
