MOTORISTS are facing over six weeks of nighttime road closures on a busy stretch of the N80 in Laois.
A section of the national route between Stradbally and Simmons Mill will close at night for road surfacing, between 15 October and 30 November.
Laois County Council has advised that the closure will run from the Main Street/R428 Athy Road junction in Stradbally to the N80/N78 intersection at Simmons Mill, on the main route from Portlaoise to Carlow.
The works are set to be carried out between 15 October and 30 November, with nightly road closures from 8pm to 6am. The N80 will be open to traffic outside these hours and the closures will not be continuous.
Traffic management measures will be in place throughout the works, with clearly signposted diversion routes.
