The Dunamaise Arts Centre has announced its first Christmas Market, bringing together a curated selection of local artists, makers, and more to celebrate the holiday season.
This festive marketplace will feature high-quality handcrafted goods, locally produced foods, and holiday décor that captures the spirit of Portlaoise. The market will run for three days from Thursday 28th November to Saturday 30th November, with free entry for all visitors.
Dunamaise Arts Centre will host a small selection of talented artists and makers, curated by Rebecca Deegan, local artist, who will offer a diverse range of holiday gifts and artisan products.
Visitors will also enjoy festive food and beverages, including mulled wine, teas, coffees, and seasonal treats, provided by Laois Taste and the Dunamaise Bar.
To make the market even more special, each day will feature unique activities like free ornament and jewellery making workshops, family arts and crafts stations and the nightly 65 Kitchen Choir Christmas Concerts at 8pm.
The Portlaoise Town Christmas Lights Ceremony on Friday will have plenty of Dunamaise elves on hand to guide you to and from the Christmas market at Dunamaise Arts Centre.
A very special meet and greet can be arranged on Saturday when Santa visits the market. Families can capture a holiday keepsake with Santa in a festive photo area with local photographer Terry Conroy.
Throughout the market, attendees can browse for Christmas gifts, attend family-friendly creative demos, and enjoy Dunamaise's own Elf Squad’s assistance. Creative Community artist demos and installations are kindly supported by Creative Ireland Laois.
