Portlaoise Family Law Court: Accused of assaulting woman on two separate occasions

A MAN appeared at the family law court in Portlaoise by video link from Cloverhill Prison was charged with two counts of assaulting a woman, causing her harm on two separate occasions.
The 38-year-old Laois man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim, is charged with the offences, which allegedly took place on 1 November 2024 and 9 January at an address in Laois.
Judge Susan Fay remanded the defendant in custody to 27 January.
