THE famous words of Henry Ford “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success."
This is certainly true with the collaboration of volunteers and combined resources of both Mountmellick Tidy Towns and Mountmellick Women’s Shed. It is the time of year for Tidy Towns competition with members of the group busy keeping Mountmellick neat and tidy.
Frances and Anne from Women Shed have worked to create a series of floral murals on utility boxes and utility reels around Mountmellick town. The project is a collaboration with Mountmellick Tidy Towns who have provided the paint and resources. The murals were created on the boxes with permission from ESB.
You may also have noticed some new features around the town courtesy of Tidy Towns group who have invested in new planters at several locations around the town including new flower boxes along the outer front wall of Mountmellick Community school and near An Post at Connolly Street.
Tidy towns have appealed to locals to help keep Mountmellick Tidy by sweeping around your property, binning litter responsibly
