FOUR teenagers have been arrested following a crash in a stolen pick-up truck, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

All four are currently detained for questioning in relation to the crash, which happened in Graiguecullen on the Laois/Carlow border.

Gardaí said last night that they are appealing for witnesses following the incident yesterday morning.

Gardaí received a report of the theft of a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck in the Rathcoole area of Co Dublin, in the early hours of Wednesday 8 July.

At about 7.35am, the stolen vehicle was located travelling on Chaff Street, Graiguecullen by gardaí on mobile patrol.

The pick-up kept going and crashed into another car and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was admitted to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

Four male juveniles were arrested at the scene and are detained for questioning at garda stations in Co Carlow, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 The road was closed for examination and has since reopened. No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make the footage available to investigating gardaí.

Gardaí have referred the incident to Fiosrú, as the vehicle involved is the subject of an unauthorised taking investigation.
