A MOTORIST caught driving a dangerously defective car was described as a ‘limbo’ contestant by gardaí.
The car’s suspension was so low that it was hitting the tarmac and sending out sparks, before it was pulled in today by Laois gardaí.
It was a case not of a limbo dancer but a limbo driver, as the BMW was seized and loaded onto a recovery truck to be towed away.
In a social media post titled ‘How Low Can You Go? (Limbo Edition)’, imaginative gardaí said today’s contestant was ‘trying to limbo under the laws of physics and the Road Traffic Act’.
The post by An Garda Síochána Laois Offaly said the car’s suspension was ‘slammed so low even the gravel’s a speed bump’, while the illegal number plates were ‘custom PlayStation font’ and there was no road tax.
Giving the limbo contestant marks out of ten, the force declared: ‘Safety: 0/10. Compliance: 0/10. Sparks on tarmac: 10/10 (unwanted). This BMW was raised up onto a tow truck and taken off the road.’
The motorist is facing another contest in court on a series of traffic charges, including driving a dangerously defective vehicle.
