THE countdown is underway for ‘Together for Hospice’, The National Hospice Movement’s, 35th annual Hospice Sunflower Days campaign.
The annual on-street collection taking place across Laois on Friday and Saturday 6 and 7 June to raise funds for Laois Hospice.
Hospice volunteers will be selling an array of sunflower merchandise in towns and villages throughout the county to raise vital funds for Laois Hospice.
There is also an opportunity to support the hospice online by making a donation on the website www.sunflowerdays.ie.
The funds raised play a vital role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Ireland.
Hospice and specialist palliative homecare services provide free-of-charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, whilst also helping and supporting the patient’s family members.
The funds raised will be used for homecare palliative care services and counselling services for family members.
Chairperson, Laois Hospice Foundation Mary Delaney said: “With just a few days to go until our on-street collections for this year’s 35th campaign we are calling on the public to support Laois Hospice by purchasing some sunflower merchandise on the 6 or 7 June. There is also the opportunity once again for the public to donate online via the website, www.sunflowerdays.ie, with all funds raised going toward your chosen hospice or homecare service.”

You can support Laois Hospice by donating to the on-street volunteers or by donating online today at www.sunflowerdays.ie.
If you would like to volunteer to help with the on-street collections then please contact the hospice today on 086 815 7280.
