That year the Laois (Ballygeehan) team defeated Cork (Redmonds) in the final on Sunday 24 October on a scoreline of 6-2 to 4-1.

The Laois team on the day included: Pat Lee, Joe Carroll, Jim Deegan, Jack Loughman, Rev. J.J Kearney, Paddy Ryan, Joe Dunphy, John Phelan, Paddy Campion, John J. A talk on that famous game – ‘Laois 1915 All Ireland Hurling Win’- will be given by historian Paul Rouse in Rathdowney Library on Monday 18 August at 7pm.

The talk will take a close look on Laois' journey to the 1915 all-Ireland hurling victory. From losing the previous year’s final and the dedicated approach taken to win the 1915 final.

Booking is not essential and all are welcome along, free of charge, to hear and learn about the full fascinating story.
