THE Laois Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) is calling on the public to engage with its upcoming public consultations taking place in local libraries across Laois in the coming weeks.

The Partnership wants to hear from as many people as possible from communities across the county. The feedback received will help guide the development of the county’s first-ever community safety strategy.

The following are the locations, dates and times where the public are being encouraged to attend and give feedback: Abbeyleix library, today (Tuesday), 10am to 1.30pm; Rathdowney library, tomorrow (Wednesday), 2.30-5pm; Mountrath library Thursday, 3-6pm; Portarlington library Friday, 2.30-5.30pm; Portlaoise library Monday 7 September, 10am to 5pm; Durrow library Tuesday 8 September, 6-7.30pm; Stradbally library, Wednesday 9 September, 2-5pm; and Mountmellick library Thursday 10 September, 2-5.30pm.

Explaining the importance of community engagement and attendance at these events, Cllr Caroline Dwane Stanley, vice-chairperson of Laois Local Community Safety Partnership said: “The Laois Local Community Safety Partnership is committed to improving community safety across the county. This consultation will help us to uncover the areas of concern for Laois residents with regards to community safety. This will ensure that the Laois Community Safety Plan will include all areas of community safety. We hope to see as many people there as possible.” The Laois Local Community Safety Partnership is also encouraging members of the public to complete its Laois Community Safety Survey. Survey responses will also inform the priorities, actions and long-term vision for community safety across Laois. The survey can be found online.
