Laois gardaí arrest trucker on cocaine

A TRUCK driver who tested positive for cocaine has been arrested by Laois gardaí.
The Mercedes truck was three tons overweight and there was no tachograph in operation, according to gardaí.
When the vehicle was pulled in at a local checkpoint, it emerged that the wheel nuts were loose and there was no motor tax or certificate of road worthiness.
The driver was arrested after testing positive for cocaine and the truck was seized at the scene.
In a social media post today, An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly said: ‘Some drivers really do leave us wondering what goes through their minds.’
Court proceedings have already commenced against the driver.
