THE winter meeting of Laois ICA Federation was hosted by the home guild of its president Deirdre Dunne in Mountmellick.

During the meeting, cheque presentations of €1,500 were made to both Mary Delaney of Laois Hospice and Liam McEvoy from the Cuisle Centre.

The funds were raised by ICA members from the various guilds around Laois, who took part in the annual sponsored Cuisle walk.

The Federation Cup was also presented to Arles for the best handmade Christmas card, best Yule log and best handmade Christmas stocking.

Its president Vivienne Rigley accepted the cup on behalf of her members.

Members from the seven Laois guilds took part in the competitions, with Castletown second and Portlaoise third.
