Laois restaurants honoured at Hospitality Industry awards ceremony
Bramley's in Abbeyleix was named Best Restaurant in Laois
SEVERAL Laois restaurants and hospitality leaders were honoured at the recent Irish Restaurant Awards regional event.
The awards ceremony on Tuesday 3 March in the Killashee Hotel in Kildare was the first regional celebration of this year’s awards programme, where county winners from throughout the province of Leinster were announced.
There were more than 1,100 guests in attendance. It marked the 17th year of the Irish Restaurant Awards.

Once all regional finals conclude, both regional and All-Ireland winners will be revealed at the All-Ireland awards gala dinner on Monday 18 May in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin. County winners from Leinster are invited to secure tickets for the national ceremony.
The Laois are: best restaurant, Bramley Abbeyleix; best chef, Richar Picard-Edwards, Ballyfin Demesne; best restaurant manager, Carmel Boyle, Ballyfin Demesne; best hotel and guesthouse restaurant, Ballyfin Demesne; employee excellence, Orla Maher, Morrissey’s Pub, Abbeyleix; best use of social media, Make and Mark; best casual dining, Bowe’s Foodhall and Café; best world cuisine, Namo; best gastro pub, O’Gorman’s Bar & Restaurant; best contemporary Irish cuisine, Ballyfin Demesne; best newcomer, Coffee to a Tea; pub of the year, The Fisheman’s Thatched Inn; best wine experience, Batonis; best customer service, Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant; best café, Mueller & O’Connell Bakery; best sustainable practices, Solas Eco Garden Centre; innovator of the year, The Merry Mill; local food hero, Cormac & Tracy Loonam, The Red Shed.
Addressing attendees, Seán Collender, president of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, said: “These awards are about more than recognition. They reinforce the link between hospitality businesses and Ireland’s wider tourism offering. By celebrating excellence at county and regional level, we strengthen the foundations of a food culture that attracts visitors, supports producers and sustains jobs right across the country. I want to congratulate every nominee and winner whose work contributes to that story.”
