Laois school celebrates first annual Patrons' Day

Patrons and staff who atended the inaugural Patron's Day in Mountrath Community School
A MOMENTOUS day took place in Mountrath Community School, yesterday to mark its inaugural Patrons' Day, a new tradition that honours the school’s rich history and values. Established in 2009 through the amalgamation of Brigidine Convent Mountrath, Patrician Brothers Ballyfin, and St. Aengus Vocational School, the day was a heartfelt celebration of the school’s journey and its strong cultural foundations.
The event was made even more special with the presence of several important patrons, including Linda Tynana from LOETB, Br. Gerry, Br. Matthew, Br. Nicholas, Sr. Mary Sheedy, and Mary Kavanagh. The patrons were warmly welcomed by both staff and students, who enjoyed a selection of delicious treats provided by the guests.
Patrons’ Day not only celebrated the past but also provided an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the values that have shaped Mountrath Community School into what it is today. With the support of our patrons, the school looks forward to many more years of growth and success, continuing to uphold the traditions that make it a place of learning and community.
